This our fourth quilt show - hopefully getting better every year.
We want everyone to enter - displaying your quilts is a very valuable exercise and helps us all as quilters. The use of colour and design can radically change the way quilts look. It is fascinating when we have two or more quilts that have obviously used the same pattern but different materials. You can also get some inspiration of how to use that material you just had to have but having bought it, can't figure out how to use it to the best advantage.
Getting workshops and stalls has been difficult for us as there seems to be lots on this long weekend but we will be having some this year. As these are booked we will put the information on the website
Last year the weather was superb but we do ask that you throw a jacket in the car just in case.
Adaminaby is the first town that was moved to make way for the Snowy Hydro Scheme and the buildings can be viewed.including the old bank which will be open for viewing and was the first two story building moved on a truck. Leigh Stewart has a marvellous gallery of photos relating to the early days. Kiandra is just up the road and it is where snow skiing started in Australia as well as being an old goldfield where people still pan today.
There is, of course, trout fishing - fly, bank and boating. The rivers are opened that weekend and the trout are fat and hungry. We can arrange fly fishing lessons if we have enough notice.
Last year the Golf Club, Snowy Aviators and the Ladies Bowls Club all had things happening. As these are announced we will be adding them to our web site to help you plan your trip.
